Haiti, is not in a easy situation. They were in a terrible situation before the earthquake, but it became even worse after the earthquake. One of the 30 human rights that was not given or hasn't met the rights of the children is article 4: No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. Before the earth quake the French used them as slaves which is clearly against human right number 4.Another humanright that was broken is article number 25: Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. The people of Haiti do not have access to food every day, medication to keep them healthy. Right now they probably dont have security if they areunemployed or widowed. As you can see many of these human rights are not being met. Slowly but shurley they are starting to fix these human rights. Neighboringcountries are tiring to fix most of this. America is working on article 25. They are bringing in food clothing and trying to give them a standard shelter to live in. This task is never easy. As much as the countries try to help they can only bring in so much, and itis not always enough. When this happen fights startbecause they are not all get what they want. There are so many difficulties that still face Haiti. I have mentioned some but there are so many more. There is the lack of medical health, the difficulty of trash building up because no one wants to clean it up. No clean streets with trash every where means deseases start to spread. The reason other countries can generally recover from things like this so fast is because they had a good base before the natural disaster happened. Haiti did not have a good base before the earth quake, they had problems, poverty.Haiti should first start to clean the place up, this will help them so much. Then they should start rebuilding their homes and cleaning out the old ruins of the buildings. Everything then should go fine and they should just try keep themselves healthy.

Ayiti- The Cost of Life
1. What was it like playing the game?
For me, 'Ayiti- The cost of life' was very challenging, difficult, frustrating and a tiny bit confusing. All in all it was not a easy game for me.
2. What was the game about and how would you describe it to a friend?
The game basically is a stimulation of what life is like living in Haiti in Poverty. You have to take care of your family of 5 people. There is a family farm, school, work and a Hospital. As you progress in the game there are more things that come into the game like a church and more supplies to buy for the house and the children. When you play the game it feels
3. Which ‘primary objective’ did you choose, and why?
I chose education because if you focus on education the children will have a better adult life because they have the education to make the right decisions.
4. What types of decisions did you have to make about the family members while playing the game and trying to achieve your objective?
You had to decide where to send them, to work on the family farm or to send them to school or to stay at home. For me I sent the children to school to get educated and them they go use their education at home or on the farm.
5. What strategies did you use? For example, did you combine work and school, or did you send anyone to school? Which worked? Which did not?
I used the kids to go to school and get educated and the parent to go do volunteer work and/or work on the farm. This worked well for me. Something that didn't work well was that if I sent a sick person to work they would just die.
6. Why would parents choose to devote so much effort sending their children to school?
Because if your kid has education then they can go home and educate everyone else at school and when they have kids they can educate them too.
7. What obstacles did you face in trying to keep the children in school?
You sometimes need to give the school books and a uniform and that cost a lot of money to buy, especially if you sent one or more child to school.
8. How do the situations and options in the game compare with those in your own community / country?
Well in every country there is going to be a natural disaster, and the big natural disaster usually happen to the very poor countries and it doesn't help them one single bit. It just makes everything a whole lot worse. And where I come from, South Africa, there is poverty and we dont get all that many disasters so we are a bit better off.
9. Why is access to education a huge challenge as LEDC’s try to develop?
Because the people dont have the money to get a proper education at all, and this means that they can't develop all that well because they are not educated enough.
10. Why is it vital to a country’s development to educate its people – especially women?
It is vital because it will effect everyone in the community. It is very important for women to have good education because they are the ones that have to take care of the children and grow them up in the correct way.
11. Suggest some ways that countries could prioritize education, even for women, even in the countryside. How can they do this?
If you go look at the girl effect it explains everything. In the country side they could get one person to go get educated in the city and then they can spread their learning to the people in the counrty side, so it is basically like passing down the education but only in one generation.
